TUESDAY 10 August

Another lively meeting at the Moat and we were allowed to use the function room again.

Members present included;

Beverly Bennett with Dave M-T, John & Kay Ferguson, Martyn Brown, Lindsey & Roger Tong, Margaret & Bruce Clarke, Clive & Linda King,

Tim & Pam Farley, Dave Blackwell, Trevor Yetts, Gary Collett, Alan Rule, Derek French with Jackie Harris, Frank Griffiths with Karen and new member Rob Hunt.

As no-one had prepared anything for the evening, we had time to discuss the proposed ride-out along with Ken Porter’s group from South Central.

This was for Saturday 21 August which was co-ordinated by Ken and Gary Collett and the group finished at Honda’s at Farnham in Hants. (Please read more at end of notes)

Another trip was to be with Tim and Pam Farley in and around the Hever Castle area but unfortunately due to other commitments this will now have to be re-scheduled.  I have already asked if someone else would like to take this on but as yet no one has volunteered.

The third suggestion was to join in with the Ride to the Wall – the National Memorial on Saturday 02 October.  Only five bikes have signed-up so far.

We learnt that Trevor Yetts has sold his Pan so will no longer join us on Tuesdays and for ride-outs.  We did however welcome new member Rob Hunt.

As mentioned at the July meeting, some members would be interested in wearing the Pan regalia but with South East added below the logo.  It was stressed that this would be with the support of the PanClan and not the South East group going ‘independent’.  I have since taken a t-shirt to a local company and we are waiting for the pricing which will depend upon getting the art work on a disc.

Not all the members including Dave and I are attending the Gathering in September but where possible would you mind sharing your photo’s and memories with the rest of us?  Perhaps the October meeting would be a suggestion?

Since this meeting

1. The ride via Bury Hill went ahead with seven bikes from our area.  Did any of you take photo’s or have any notes to scribe?  We would all appreciate your sharing with us.

2 .Have had info compiled by Tim Gore forwarded by Paul Horner – the Area rep liaison rep.  This concerns the Briefing Notes for all area Reps.  It is quite a lengthy document but it also includes vital information concerning riding advice to members especially when riding in groups.  This information should be available on the website but just in case anyone needs to be reminded of the protocol, I will send it as a separate email.

3. Have had an email via Rich concerning a website called www.bikerbuddies.co.uk
“It has been produced by one of our customers at Cheviot 4x4 Ltd.  It has no cost to people who join but it is a good forum for selling new and unwanted motorcycle kit.
There isn't a catch to joining it.”
Have had a peep at the site and think some of you might benefit.

Well that’s all for now.  To those of you going to the Gathering – enjoy.  Sorry we won’t be joining you but as I still can’t wear a crash helmet, it just wouldn’t be the same taking the car!!!!
